(March 29, 2016) RoadMetric ltd., a company specializing in road enforcement technology has just released their latest product the New Public Lane Enforcement System to help city’s keep their bus lanes clear. Clear bus lanes enable a city’s buses to maintain schedules and save bus riders’ time.
The system installs special cameras on buses that automatically detect vehicles interfering with the free-flow of bus traffic — no investment in infrastructure required, no involvement of the bus driver needed. The system automatically identifies license plates and ignores vehicles allowed to be in the bus lane. Videos of bus-lane violations are transferred automatically by WiFi when the bus returns to its terminal. Back-Office software facilitates efficient review of violations and printing of citations.
“We have been very surprised as to how well received this product is,” said RoadMetric’s Vice President of International sales , Bruce Gurfein. “We have identified the advantages as being a shorter, more reliable bus routes, it patrols the entire length of the bus lane, no need for new infrastructure, it is fully automatic and has an efficient processing format.”
